Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed light-brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups semisweet and/or milk chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
- In a small bowl, whisk together flour and baking soda; set aside.
- In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, cream the butter and sugars on medium speed until light and fluffy.
- Add the salt, vanilla, and eggs; beat until well combined.
- Gradually add the flour mixture, beating until just combined.
- Stir in the chocolate chips.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for about 10-12 minutes, or until the cookies are golden brown.
- Let cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
Chill the dough for thicker cookies. Use quality chocolate for better flavor. Don’t overmix to maintain tenderness.
