Description

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed light-brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semisweet and/or milk chocolate chips


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together flour and baking soda; set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, cream the butter and sugars on medium speed until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the salt, vanilla, and eggs; beat until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture, beating until just combined.
  6. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  7. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for about 10-12 minutes, or until the cookies are golden brown.
  9. Let cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

Chill the dough for thicker cookies. Use quality chocolate for better flavor. Don’t overmix to maintain tenderness.
