Description

Deliciously thick and gooey chocolate chip cookies that evoke comfort and nostalgia.

Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, ensuring everything is well incorporated.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  6. Gently stir in the semi-sweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  8. Using a cookie scoop, place generous amounts of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them a few inches apart.
  9. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  10. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For best results, chill the dough and avoid overbaking to ensure a chewy center.
