Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a small bowl, combine the flour and baking soda; set aside.
- In a large bowl, beat together the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt until creamy.
- Add the vanilla extract and eggs, mixing well after each addition.
- Gradually blend in the flour mixture, mixing just until no dry flour is visible.
- Stir in the semisweet chocolate chips.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, until the edges are golden brown.
- Let the cookies cool on the sheets for 2 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
Use room-temperature butter for a creamier dough. Don’t skip the resting period after baking for better texture.
