Deliciously classic chocolate chip cookies with a perfect balance of chewy and crunchy textures, made from scratch for a delightful experience.
Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed light-brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon coarse salt
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups semisweet and/or milk chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
- In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda; set aside.
- In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, cream the butter and sugars on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
- Add the salt, vanilla, and eggs, mixing until well combined.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the bowl, mixing until just combined.
- Stir in the chocolate chips to ensure an even distribution.
- Using a tablespoon, drop balls of dough onto baking sheets lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake until the cookies are golden brown, around 12 to 15 minutes.
- Allow them to cool on the sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
For best results, use room temperature butter and avoid overmixing the dough.
