Description

Thick, chewy, and bursting with rich chocolate flavor, these New York-style cookies are a delightful treat that fills your kitchen with an irresistible aroma.

Ingredients

  • 115g unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 160g light brown sugar
  • 40g granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 270g all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 200g chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the unsalted butter, light brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the egg and add the vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Scoop large portions of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them out evenly.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden but the center is soft.
  9. Let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 3-4 days. Refrigerate for up to a week but may lose some chewiness. Freeze for up to 2 months.
