Description

Thick New York Style Cookies are chewy on the inside with a crispy edge, perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth and sharing with friends.

Ingredients

  • 115g unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 160g light brown sugar
  • 40g granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 270g all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 200g chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Cream the unsalted butter, light brown sugar, and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing gently until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips evenly throughout the dough.
  7. Scoop the dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until edges are golden brown but centers are still slightly underbaked for a chewy texture.
  9. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days at room temperature. For longer storage, refrigerate for up to a week or freeze for up to 2 months.
