Ingredients
- 1 1/2 sticks of butter, softened
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

- 1 egg yolk
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch (optional)
- 1 cup NESTLE semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup Ghirardelli bittersweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup Ghirardelli milk chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425 degrees F.
- Line your cookie sheets with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter, light brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and creamy (about 2 minutes).
- Add the vanilla extract, egg, and egg yolk, mixing until well blended and fluffy.
- In a separate bowl, whisk flour, salt, baking soda, and cornstarch (if using).
- Slowly add dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just incorporated.
- Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Chill the dough for at least 2 hours.
- Form 2-ounce mounds of dough and place them on the lined cookie sheets.
- Bake for 9 minutes, then immediately lower the oven temperature to 375 degrees F.
- Let cool on the baking sheet for a few moments before transferring to a wire rack.
