Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed light-brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups semisweet and/or milk chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda; set aside.
- In a large bowl, using a mixer, cream the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the vanilla and eggs until combined.
- Gradually add the flour mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Stir in the chocolate chips.
- Drop tablespoon-sized dough balls onto baking sheets.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
- Let cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
For softer cookies, underbake slightly and store in an airtight container with a slice of bread. You can experiment with different types of chocolate chips for added flavor.
