Description

Delightfully moist banana bread loaded with chocolate chips, perfect for breakfast, snacks, or dessert.


Ingredients

  • 1 & 1/2 cups (180g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup (60mL) vegetable oil
  • 3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 & 1/2 cups (360g) mashed ripe bananas (about 3-4 medium bananas)
  • 1 cup (170g) semi-sweet chocolate chips


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan and line it with parchment paper.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  4. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, vegetable oil, and sugar until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla, mixing until combined.
  5. Incorporate the mashed bananas into the wet mixture.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  9. Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a skewer inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  10. Let cool in the pan until slightly warm before slicing.

Notes

Ripe bananas yield the best flavor. Don’t overmix the batter to ensure a fluffy texture.
