Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 6 tablespoons white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 4 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 bag chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine the softened butter, brown sugar, and white sugar. Beat until light and fluffy (4 to 8 minutes).
- Reduce mixer speed to low; add vanilla extract and eggs one at a time, mixing until well combined.
- Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing gently to combine.
- Fold in chocolate chips just before fully incorporating dry ingredients.
- Scoop spoonfuls of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing 2 inches apart, and flatten slightly.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, checking around the 10-minute mark for golden edges and a soft center.
- Cool on baking sheets for about 20 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Use room temperature butter for easier mixing. For chewier cookies, chill dough for an hour before baking.
