- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 cups old-fashioned oats
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the eggs one at a time, fully incorporating each before adding the next, then mix in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt, then gradually stir this into the wet mixture until combined.
- Fold in the old-fashioned oats and chocolate chips until evenly incorporated.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, until edges are lightly golden and centers are soft.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
For best results, use room temperature butter and avoid overbaking for a chewy center.
