Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- In another bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually blend this dry mixture into the creamed mixture until just combined.
- Stir in the chocolate chips, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Using a spoon or cookie scoop, drop spoonfuls of dough onto ungreased cookie sheets, leaving space in between for spreading.
- Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden but the centers appear slightly soft.
- Let the cookies cool on the cookie sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
To keep your cookies soft, store them in an airtight container and consider adding a slice of bread in with them to help maintain moisture.
