Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp salt
- Chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream together softened butter and powdered sugar until smooth.
- Add vanilla extract and mix well.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the butter mixture and mix until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips if desired.
- Roll dough into small balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Flatten each ball slightly with a fork or palm.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until set but soft in the center.
- Let cool completely before serving.
