Description

Delicious bars combining sweet apples, buttery crumble, and rich salted caramel sauce, perfect for fall.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups peeled and thinly sliced apples (about 3 medium)
  • 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine melted butter, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt.
  3. Add flour and stir until the mixture is crumbly. Press about two-thirds of this mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  4. In a separate bowl, toss the sliced apples with cinnamon and nutmeg. Spread the apple mixture over the crust in the pan.
  5. Drizzle the salted caramel sauce over the apples. Crumble the remaining flour mixture on top.
  6. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.
  7. Let cool completely in the pan before cutting into bars.

Serve warm or at room temperature. Pairs beautifully with vanilla ice cream or extra salted caramel drizzle.
