Description

Salisbury steak is a comforting dish featuring juicy beef patties smothered in rich gravy, perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/2 cup onion, sliced
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 tbsp butter

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, 1/4 cup onion, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Form into patties.
  2. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Cook patties until browned on both sides. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add sliced onion and mushrooms; sauté until soft.
  4. Sprinkle flour over the mixture and stir, then slowly add beef broth, stirring until it thickens.
  5. Return the patties to the skillet, cover, and simmer for about 10-15 minutes until cooked through. Serve with gravy over the patties.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding garlic powder or onion powder to the beef mixture. You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a healthier version.
