Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl and cool slightly.
- Whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until fully combined.
- Sift together the flour and baking soda in a separate bowl, then fold into the wet mixture to just combine.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
- Drop rounded spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet, spaced about two inches apart.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until the edges are golden and centers are soft.
- Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.
Notes
For chewier cookies, slightly underbake them and let them cool on the tray.
