Description

Classic chocolate chip cookies with a perfect balance of sweet and salty, offering a gooey, chewy texture.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda; set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, using a mixer, beat the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt on medium speed until creamy.
  4. Add in vanilla and eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  6. Stir in chocolate chips.
  7. Drop dough by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

Use room temperature butter for the creamiest texture. Don’t overmix the dough. Chilling the dough for 30 minutes enhances flavor and texture.
