Description

A classic chocolate chip cookie recipe with a chewier texture and melt-in-your-mouth chocolate chunks, perfect for sharing or indulging.


Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed light-brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon coarse salt
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semisweet and/or milk chocolate chips


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together flour and baking soda; set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, using an electric mixer on medium speed, beat the butter and sugars until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
  4. Add the salt, vanilla, and eggs, and mix until combined.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture, beating on low speed until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips using a spatula or wooden spoon.
  7. Scoop out dough onto baking sheets lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers may look slightly underbaked; they’ll continue to cook as they cool.
  9. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

For thicker cookies, chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking. Use high-quality chocolate for better flavor.
