Description

A heartwarming treat that combines chewy oats with delightful chocolate chips, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 3 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, light brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Incorporate the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  3. Stir in the vanilla extract and milk until fully blended.
  4. Gradually mix in the rolled oats until well combined.
  5. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
  6. Gradually add the flour mixture to the oat mixture, stirring until just combined, and fold in chocolate chips.
  7. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the dough for at least 1-2 hours.
  8. Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  9. Scoop dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  10. Bake for 10-12 minutes until lightly browned but still soft in the center.
  11. Let cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

Chill the dough for best results and experiment with add-ins like nuts or dried fruits.
