Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup milk
- 3 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups chocolate chips
Instructions
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, light brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Incorporate the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the vanilla extract and milk until fully blended.
- Gradually mix in the rolled oats until well combined.
- Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the oat mixture, stirring until just combined, and fold in chocolate chips.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the dough for at least 1-2 hours.
- Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Scoop dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until lightly browned but still soft in the center.
- Let cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
