Lemon Brownies, or Lemonies, combine the softness of a brownie with a refreshing lemon flavor. Perfect for gatherings, these treats will surely brighten your day!
Ingredients
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Zest of 1 lemon
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9 inch baking pan.
- In a bowl, mix together the sugar and melted butter until combined.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Stir in the lemon zest and lemon juice.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- For the glaze, whisk together powdered sugar and lemon juice until smooth.
- Once the brownies are cool, drizzle the glaze over the top and let it set.
- Cut into squares and enjoy!
Notes
Serve at room temperature, plain or with whipped cream. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for a week.
