Description

Delightful chocolate chip cookies with crispy edges and chewy centers, enhanced by chunks of melty chocolate and a hint of molasses.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 cup walnuts, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the butter mixture, stirring until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips and walnuts.
  6. Scoop 6-ounce portions of dough onto parchment-lined baking sheets, spacing them apart.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are golden brown, but the centers are still soft.
  8. Allow to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For an even chewier texture, chill the cookie dough for at least 30 minutes before baking. Use quality chocolate for a richer flavor.
