  • 1 pound ground beef (85% lean)
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional for garnish)


Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced onions and cook for 10-12 minutes, stirring often, until they turn golden and caramelized.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  4. Add the ground beef and cook until fully browned, breaking it apart with a spatula.
  5. Drain any excess fat. Then, stir in the Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  6. Let the mixture simmer for another 5 minutes to allow the flavors to come together.
  7. While simmering, toast the hamburger buns.
  8. Scoop the beef mixture onto the bottom half of each bun, top with shredded Swiss cheese, and then place the top bun.
