Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 cups apples, peeled and chopped
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar (for topping, optional)
- Additional cinnamon (for topping, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
- In a separate large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time.
- Gradually incorporate the flour mixture, alternating with the milk, until just combined.
- Toss chopped apples with cinnamon and sugar, then fold them into the batter.
- Pour the batter into a greased and floured loaf pan, smoothing the top.
- Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon if desired.
- Bake for 50–60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool for 10 minutes in the pan before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Store the loaf covered in plastic wrap or in an airtight container for up to 5–7 days. Can be frozen for up to 3 months.
