Delicious and playful cookies shaped like mummies, drizzled in vanilla buttercream and topped with candy eyes, perfect for Halloween festivities.
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Vanilla buttercream for decorating
- Candy eyes for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in a large mixing bowl until smooth and creamy.
- Add eggs one at a time and blend well; stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until combined.
- Drop rounded spoonfuls of dough onto an ungreased baking sheet with space between each cookie.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes; check for doneness.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.
- Once cooled, drizzle vanilla buttercream over the cookies to create mummy wraps.
- Top with candy eyes while the icing is still soft.
Notes
Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or refrigerate for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze individually wrapped cookies.
