Classic chocolate chip cookies with a soft and chewy texture that evoke warmth and nostalgia.
Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup light-brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups semisweet and/or milk chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
- In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together flour and baking soda; set aside.
- Cream the butter, granulated sugar, and light-brown sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
- Add salt, vanilla extract, and eggs to the butter mixture; mix until combined.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the creamed mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips with a spatula or wooden spoon.
- Drop spoonfuls of dough onto lined baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are golden brown and the centers are soft.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.
Notes
Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3-4 days or refrigerate for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze in a freezer-safe bag for up to 2 months.
