Description

A safe-to-eat cookie dough recipe that captures the delicious flavor of traditional cookie dough without raw eggs or unheated flour.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened to room temperature)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/4 cup white sugar (granulated)
  • 3 tablespoons whole milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour (heat-treated)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup chocolate chips (mix of mini and regular)

Instructions

  1. Heat-Treat the Flour: Spread the flour on a baking sheet and bake at 350°F for 10 minutes, stirring halfway through. Alternatively, microwave for 60 seconds.
  2. Cream Butter and Sugars: In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and white sugar for 2-3 minutes until light and fluffy.
  3. Add Wet Ingredients: Mix in the whole milk and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Incorporate Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the cooled flour and salt, mixing until just combined.
  5. Fold in Chocolate Chips: Gently fold in the chocolate chips using a wooden spoon or spatula.
  6. Serve: Enjoy immediately or store in an airtight container in the fridge.

Notes

For enhanced flavor, let the dough chill for an hour before serving.
