Description

Delightful and chewy oatmeal cookies perfect for an afternoon snack or casual get-together.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup quick oats
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine quick oats, flour, baking soda, and salt, then stir to mix.
  5. Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of cookie dough onto a lined baking sheet, leaving space in between.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden.
  8. Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For softer cookies, remove from the oven while still slightly underbaked. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or freeze for longer storage.
