Ingredients
- 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup (120g) powdered sugar
- 2/3 cup (80g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and powdered sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Add in the unsweetened cocoa powder, flour, vanilla extract, and salt, mixing until just combined.
- Using a small scoop or your hands, form the dough into small balls and place them on the prepared baking sheets.
- Gently flatten each ball with the bottom of a glass or your hand.
- Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
Ensure butter is softened for a smoother dough. You can chill the dough if it’s too soft.
