Description

Indulge in the rich, chewy experience of homemade chocolate chip cookies inspired by Levain Bakery, featuring melty chocolate and a buttery texture.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 cup walnuts, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream the softened butter with the brown sugar and granulated sugar until smooth.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time and mix in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips and walnuts (if using).
  7. Scoop large balls of cookie dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden but the center is still soft.
  9. Let them cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before transferring them to a wire rack.

Notes

For the best texture, do not overmix the dough and ensure that all ingredients are at room temperature.
