Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 1 cup walnuts, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, cream the softened butter with the brown sugar and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time and mix in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and walnuts (if using).
- Scoop large balls of cookie dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden but the center is still soft.
- Let them cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before transferring them to a wire rack.
