Description

Delicious homemade cookies that capture the magic of Subway’s fresh cookies—crispy edges and gooey center.

Ingredients

  • 110 g brown sugar
  • 110 g cane sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 250 g soft butter (at room temperature)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 300 g flour
  • 3 bars of dark chocolate (chopped)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 175 °C for conventional baking or 150 °C for fan-assisted baking.
  2. Cream together the brown sugar, cane sugar, vanilla sugar, and softened butter using a hand mixer until fluffy.
  3. Beat the egg into the creamed mixture while mixing.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the baking soda, salt, and flour, then gradually add this dry mix to the butter-sugar mixture. Stir until a smooth dough forms.
  5. Chop the dark chocolate and fold into the dough.
  6. Scoop the dough into balls and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space between balls.
  7. Bake for 10–15 minutes or until the edges turn golden brown.
  8. Allow cooling on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Use room temperature butter for the best texture. Chill the dough for 30 minutes for better results.
