Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- Colored sugar or sprinkles for decoration (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar in a large mixing bowl using an electric mixer for 2-3 minutes until fluffy.
- Add the vanilla and almond extracts, mixing until well combined.
- Sift together the flour, salt, and baking soda in a separate bowl, then gradually add to the wet ingredients, blending just until combined.
- Shape your cookies using a cookie press or by hand into small balls and arrange on a lined baking sheet.
- If desired, sprinkle colored sugar or sprinkles on top of each ball.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until the edges are lightly golden, keeping them soft in the middle.
- Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
For best results, chill the dough for 30 minutes before shaping, and don’t overbake to keep cookies tender.
