Description
Deliciously buttery cookies that melt in your mouth, perfect for tea time or as a delightful gift.
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large egg yolks
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon salt
- Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened butter and granulated sugar. Cream them together until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add egg yolks one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Pour in the vanilla extract and blend until fully incorporated.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture into the butter mixture, mixing well until a soft dough forms.
- Using a cookie scoop or your hands, form small dough balls, about one inch in diameter. Roll in powdered sugar if desired.
- Arrange dough balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space between each cookie.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until edges are lightly golden. Let cool slightly before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For best flavor, use high-quality unsalted butter. Chilling the dough for 30 minutes can make shaping easier.
