Description

A delightful treat combining rich, fudgy brownies with creamy chocolate mousse, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 8 oz semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the cocoa powder, granulated sugar, and melted butter until well combined.
  3. Whisk in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract.
  4. Gently fold in the flour and salt until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  7. Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan.
  8. For the mousse, melt the semi-sweet chocolate and let it cool slightly.
  9. In another bowl, whip the heavy cream and confectioners’ sugar until soft peaks form.
  10. Gently fold the melted chocolate into the whipped cream.
  11. Spread the mousse over the cooled brownies and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  12. Cut into squares and serve, optionally garnished with chocolate shavings.

Notes

For a different twist, you can add nuts like walnuts or pecans into the brownie batter before baking. You can also substitute the semi-sweet chocolate with dark chocolate for a richer taste.
