Description
Classic homemade chocolate chip cookies that are chewy, gooey, and sure to evoke fond memories.
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
- In another bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased cookie sheets.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are nicely golden.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
For softer cookies, slightly underbake them or add an extra egg yolk to retain moisture. Store cookies in airtight containers at room temperature for up to 1 week or freeze for up to 3 months.
