Delightful chocolate chip cookies with a crispy outside and soft, chewy inside, made without brown sugar.
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- 1 cup white granulated sugar
- 1 egg, room temperature
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, plus extra for topping
Instructions
- Gather all your ingredients.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mix the softened butter and granulated sugar until creamy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, beating until combined.
- Sift together flour, baking soda, and salt, and then gradually incorporate into the wet mixture without overmixing.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and add extra on top of the dough balls if desired.
- Scoop the dough onto the baking sheets, spacing them about two inches apart.
- Bake for 11 to 13 minutes until the edges are lightly browned.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheets before transferring to wire racks.

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3-4 days, or freeze for up to 2 months.
