Description

Delightful chocolate chip cookies with a crispy outside and soft, chewy inside, made without brown sugar.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1 cup white granulated sugar
  • 1 egg, room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, plus extra for topping

Instructions

  1. Gather all your ingredients.
  2. Preheat your oven to 350°F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  3. In a large bowl, mix the softened butter and granulated sugar until creamy.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract, beating until combined.
  5. Sift together flour, baking soda, and salt, and then gradually incorporate into the wet mixture without overmixing.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips and add extra on top of the dough balls if desired.
  7. Scoop the dough onto the baking sheets, spacing them about two inches apart.
  8. Bake for 11 to 13 minutes until the edges are lightly browned.
  9. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheets before transferring to wire racks.
