Description
Classic chocolate chip cookies that bring back fond memories with each bite. Gooey, crunchy, and irresistibly aromatic.
Ingredients
- 1 cup softened butter
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 teaspoons hot water
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream together butter, white sugar, and brown sugar in a mixing bowl until smooth.
- Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
- Dissolve baking soda in hot water, then add it to the batter with salt.
- Gradually mix in the flour until a dough forms, then fold in chocolate chips and walnuts if using.
- Drop spoonfuls of dough onto ungreased baking pans, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- Bake for approximately 10 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
- Let cool before enjoying the warm cookies.
Notes
For thicker cookies, chill the dough for about 30 minutes before baking. Use parchment paper for easier removal from baking pans.
