Description
Classic chocolate chip cookies that are chewy, buttery, and packed with gooey chocolate.
Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, whisk together flour and baking soda; set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat together the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt until creamy.
- Add vanilla and eggs, mixing well.
- Gradually beat in the dry ingredients until combined.
- Stir in the chocolate chips.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
For added texture, mix in chopped nuts or replace semisweet chips with dark chocolate chips.
