Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring they are fully incorporated before adding the next.
- In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually blend this dry mixture into the creamed mixture, stirring until just incorporated.
- Stir in the chocolate chips.
- Using a rounded tablespoon, drop mounds of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving some space between each mound.
- Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until the cookies are golden brown.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
For thicker cookies, refrigerate the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking. Use parchment paper for easy removal and minimal cleanup.
