Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a small bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large bowl, beat the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract with an electric mixer until creamy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Gradually beat in the flour mixture until fully combined.
- Stir in the chocolate chips and nuts if using.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of the dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches between cookies.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 9 to 11 minutes or until the cookies are golden brown.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 2 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
For optimal freshness, store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3-4 days. They can also be refrigerated or frozen for longer storage.
