Description

Delicious homemade chocolate chip cookies that are soft, chewy, and crisp, bringing joy and nostalgia to every bite.


Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a small bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract with an electric mixer until creamy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. Gradually beat in the flour mixture until fully combined.
  6. Stir in the chocolate chips and nuts if using.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of the dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches between cookies.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 9 to 11 minutes or until the cookies are golden brown.
  9. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 2 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
