Description

A classic recipe for chewy chocolate chip cookies that are soft on the inside and golden on the outside, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, and salt; then set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, and then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually fold in the dry ingredients until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  6. Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Drop rounds of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them two inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until golden around the edges and soft in the center.
  9. Let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

Use room temperature ingredients for better mixing and consistent results. Don’t overbake for a chewy texture.
