A classic recipe for chewy chocolate chip cookies that are soft on the inside and golden on the outside, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, and salt; then set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, and then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually fold in the dry ingredients until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Drop rounds of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them two inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, until golden around the edges and soft in the center.
- Let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
Use room temperature ingredients for better mixing and consistent results. Don’t overbake for a chewy texture.
