Classic chewy chocolate chip cookies filled with melty chocolate and crispy edges. Perfect for any occasion!
Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed light-brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon coarse salt
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups semisweet and/or milk chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda; set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter and sugars until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
- Add coarse salt and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, mixing well.
- Beat in the eggs, one at a time, ensuring each is well incorporated.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Drop balls of dough onto the baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown but the centers look slightly undercooked.
- Remove from the oven and cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For extra chewiness, refrigerate the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking.
