Description

Classic chewy chocolate chip cookies filled with melty chocolate and crispy edges. Perfect for any occasion!

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed light-brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon coarse salt
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semisweet and/or milk chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda; set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter and sugars until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
  4. Add coarse salt and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, mixing well.
  5. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, ensuring each is well incorporated.
  6. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  8. Drop balls of dough onto the baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown but the centers look slightly undercooked.
  10. Remove from the oven and cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For extra chewiness, refrigerate the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking.
