Description

A quick and satisfying breakfast featuring cheesy gooeyness and perfectly cooked eggs on crispy bread.


Ingredients

  • 2 slices of bread
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup (2 oz) grated cheese (cheddar, pepper jack, or gruyere)
  • 1 teaspoon finely chopped fresh herbs (thyme or rosemary)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)


Instructions

  1. Lightly toast the bread or broil for 1 to 2 minutes on each side until crispy.
  2. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  3. Crack the egg into a small bowl and beat it with a fork until fully mixed.
  4. Mix in the cheese and fresh herbs. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Spread the egg and cheese mixture over the toast, covering it completely.
  6. If desired, sprinkle on some cayenne pepper.
  7. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until puffed and bubbly.
  8. Alternatively, for air frying, preheat the air fryer to 340°F and air fry for 8 to 10 minutes until browned and cooked through.
