Description
A quick and satisfying breakfast featuring cheesy gooeyness and perfectly cooked eggs on crispy bread.
Ingredients
- 2 slices of bread
- 1 large egg
- ½ cup (2 oz) grated cheese (cheddar, pepper jack, or gruyere)
- 1 teaspoon finely chopped fresh herbs (thyme or rosemary)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional)
Instructions
- Lightly toast the bread or broil for 1 to 2 minutes on each side until crispy.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F.
- Crack the egg into a small bowl and beat it with a fork until fully mixed.
- Mix in the cheese and fresh herbs. Add salt and pepper to taste.
- Spread the egg and cheese mixture over the toast, covering it completely.
- If desired, sprinkle on some cayenne pepper.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until puffed and bubbly.
- Alternatively, for air frying, preheat the air fryer to 340°F and air fry for 8 to 10 minutes until browned and cooked through.
