Delightful bars combining creamy cheesecake with tart apples and sweet caramel, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 (8 oz) packages cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups diced apples (preferably tart varieties like Granny Smith)
- 1 cup caramel sauce
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9-inch baking pan.
- In a bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, 1/4 cup sugar, and melted butter. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared pan to form the crust.
- In another bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Add 1 cup sugar and vanilla, then beat until well combined.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating just until blended after each addition.
- Stir in the diced apples, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Pour the cream cheese mixture over the crust in the baking pan.
- Drizzle some caramel sauce over the top, and use a knife to swirl it lightly into the cheesecake mixture.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the center is set.
- Allow to cool for at least 2 hours in the fridge.
- Cut into bars and serve with additional caramel sauce drizzled on top if desired.
Notes
Best served chilled. Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week. Can be frozen if wrapped tightly.
