Ingredients
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup cocoa powder
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, mix the melted butter and sugar together until well combined.
- Add in the eggs and the vanilla extract, mixing everything until it’s smooth.
- Sift in the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Stir just until combined; be careful not to over-mix.
- If desired, fold in the chocolate chips.
- Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the tops appear crinkled.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For a chewy texture, avoid overmixing and monitor bake time closely. Letting the dough sit for 30 minutes before baking enhances flavor and texture.
