Ingredients
- 4 boneless pork chops (about 1 inch thick)
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder (granules)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, chili powder, dried oregano, Cajun seasoning, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to create the spice mix.
- Rub the spice mix all over the pork chops ensuring they are evenly coated.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until hot.
- Add the pork chops to the pan and cook for about 5 to 7 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through, reaching an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
- Remove the pork chops from the pan and let them rest for about 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, marinate the pork chops in the spice mix for at least 30 minutes before cooking. These chops can also be grilled for an alternate cooking method.
