Delightful brown butter chocolate chip cookies with a rich, nutty flavor and melty chocolate chips.
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat, cooking until it smells nutty and turns golden brown. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the browned butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar and mix until smooth.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Scoop rounded balls of dough onto lined baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches of space between each.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are golden and the centers are soft.
- Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
For chewier cookies, chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking.
