Description

Delightful brown butter chocolate chip cookies with a rich, nutty flavor and melty chocolate chips.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat, cooking until it smells nutty and turns golden brown. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the browned butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar and mix until smooth.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Scoop rounded balls of dough onto lined baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches of space between each.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are golden and the centers are soft.
  9. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For chewier cookies, chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking.
