Description

Homemade chocolate chip cookies that are soft, chewy, and better than any bakery version.


Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups chocolate chips (semi-sweet, dark, or milk)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Cream together the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until fluffy.
  5. Beat in the eggs one at a time until fully incorporated.
  6. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  7. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  8. Drop spoonfuls of cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheets.
  9. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until edges are golden brown and centers are soft.
  10. Let cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For thicker cookies, chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking. Store cookies in an airtight container for up to 4 days or freeze for longer storage.
