Description
Homemade chocolate chip cookies that are soft, chewy, and better than any bakery version.
Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups chocolate chips (semi-sweet, dark, or milk)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Cream together the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time until fully incorporated.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Drop spoonfuls of cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheets.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until edges are golden brown and centers are soft.
- Let cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For thicker cookies, chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking. Store cookies in an airtight container for up to 4 days or freeze for longer storage.
