Description

A giant chocolate chip cookie that is crisp on the edges and chewy in the center, perfect for sharing and customizing with various toppings.


Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed light-brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semisweet and/or milk chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda; set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, using a mixer, beat the butter and sugars together until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the salt, vanilla, and eggs, mixing until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips and walnuts.
  7. Drop large scoops of dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing them apart.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
