Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda. Set aside.
- Cream together the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt until fluffy.
- Beat in the vanilla extract and then add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
- Gradually blend in the flour mixture until just combined.
- Stir in the chocolate chips.
- Drop spoonfuls of dough onto ungreased baking pans, 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, or until golden brown around the edges.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.
Notes
Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 to 4 days. For longer storage, refrigerate for up to a week or freeze for up to 2 months.
