Classic chocolate chip cookies with a perfect balance of sweetness and gooey, melting chocolate.
Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda; set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt until smooth and creamy.
- Beat in the vanilla extract and eggs until fully incorporated.
- Gradually add the flour mixture, stirring just until combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
Use room-temperature butter for a smoother texture. Chill your dough for about 30 minutes before baking to enhance flavor and texture.
